When considering approaches on how to execute my implementation project and ensure its effectiveness, it’s necessary to determine which internal and external methods would be strategic to follow. An internal method of execution would be to gain interest and collaborate with the Shared Governance team within the hospital. The team of shared governance within nursing is ‘founded on the premise that nursing professionals have accountability for decisions made within their role, particularly as they pertain to competence, education, quality, and practice’ (Marturano & Narva, 2023). This team holds responsibility in nursing decisions and actions made within the hospital. Considering this, allowing their input and execution would be advantageous in implementing changes within the projected plan. When considering external methods, it would be helpful to secure conversation with the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel. The National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel is knowledgeable in ‘historical perspectives of pressure injury staging’ as well as health gaps and disparities with regard to pressure injury prevention developments’ (Black, et al.,l 2023). Their expertise would provide valuable insights into current literature and practices regarding pressure injury prevention. Both methods provide significant support that is needed to ensure such an implementation project makes strides in nursing practice.
